Member Monday: Kasey Bisceglia

Fidget Fenzy, A Passion for Service and Crafting Collide

For today’s Member Monday, we want to highlight Kasey Bisceglia, who works at the Ocean Discovery Institute in San Diego, California. "My favorite part of MidYear was the fidget toy project," Kasey said. Kasey and other NDMV members participated in the "Fidget Frenzy" service day project, making fidget toys for students in the D.C. and Baltimore communities.

Within two hours, they made 34 paracord bracelets and 53 lizard keychains! "I love crafts, and I can pick them up quickly. I enjoyed it right away, and I loved the challenge of learning. Once I figured it out, I wanted to make a lot of them." More than just a passion for crafts, Kasey wants to create fidget toys for the students she serves in California. She explained, "I know fidgety students and my goal is to make these toys for them! I can use the new skills I've learned to benefit my students. Instead of buying something, I can make it for them and even include their favorite colors." Kasey’s enthusiasm for crafts and dedication to her students truly shine through. She also has a flair for photography, using a digital camera gifted to her by her mom to capture special moments from MidYear. We are inspired by Kasey's creativity and desire to give back, and we look forward to the positive changes she will bring to her students' lives.
