Are You Ready to Say Yes

to a year of service with NDMV?

EMPOWER CHANGE

Notre Dame Mission Volunteers develops over 300 leaders annually through education and compassionate service.

Help inspire confidence to learn and empower change not only within your community but also within yourself.

STEP 1

Consider if a year of service with NDMV is right for you.

A year of service can be rewarding. You make a commitment to yourself and your community that can transform the rest of your life!

Below are some helpful questions and resources to help you make your decision on whether a year of service with Notre Dame Mission Volunteers is right for you.

Ask Yourself…

Are you open to learning more about and working with new and diverse groups that share a mission of supporting and creating leaders in communities across the country?

Notre Dame Mission Volunteers develops leaders through education and compassionate service that sparks confidence to learn and agency to transform disenfranchised communities. We aspire toward a world of greater goodness in which all people thrive in a fair and just society. We aim for a world with full access to education for life where all people realize and nurture their authentic selves. We envision a world where peace and diversity are celebrated, and no person or community's material conditions inhibit their chance to live joyfully and contribute to the common good.

Are you interested in learning and strengthening new skills through personal and professional development opportunities?

Team meetings will include professional development opportunities. These opportunities will add to your transferable skills, which you can take with you into the workplace.

NDMV members participate in a national conference called MidYear in the middle of their service year. This conference features keynote speakers and workshops that provide the personal and professional growth our members need for their current positions and future goals. The weekend allows NDMV community members to connect, network, gather resources, and create meaningful memories!

Are you interested in joining a national community of over 8,000 alum and 300 current members who serve local non-profits and provide hands-on learning experiences?

Each year, NDMV members serve in 25 cities and 200+ partnering sites, providing direct service to K-12 and adult community members. We have an alum network of over 8,000 alums who continue to lead in their communities today!

Can you commit to serving as a full-time or part-time member for an 11-month period?

To complete your year of service and receive the Segal Education Award, full-time NDMV members must complete 1700 hours of service (40+ hours per week), while part-time NDMV members must complete 900 hours of service (25+ hours per week).

Are these benefits of serving with NDMV for me?

Are you open to exploring new opportunities and being a part of a team?

NDMV members are part of city teams that meet and connect twice a month. Site Managers lead the team meetings by providing personal and professional development opportunities, individualized accompaniment sessions, and service projects throughout the year. This city cohort supports you on your service journey through reflection, connection, and resource-sharing. They are often the lifelong friends you never knew you needed.
