A Little About Sam…
Best at: Including others. I look for ways to find common ground and ensure everyone feels seen and heard.
Worst at: Letting people sit in their negativity. I listen to people, take a beat, and if the opportunity presents itself, and help them find the opportunity in every situation.
Passionate about: Women and the LGBQT+ community. I triple majored in psychology, social justice, and women and gender studies. When I was a member, my service site was an organization that served unhoused women in downtown Los Angeles, California. Now, I am getting my Master’s in Community Engagement so I can learn how to better support and uplift the communities I’m passionate about.
What’s your “why”?: I don’t see my existence as doing what's best for me but how I can be the best version of myself for others. I want to do my part as a human being to make the world a better place.
Favorite hallmark: We honor the dignity and sacredness of each person.
The Hallmarks by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur are the essential characteristics, values, and activities of the NDMVA learning community. They are common principles that we share within both organizations. They recently refreshed their hallmarks! Click here to read the updated Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Hallmarks.
