A Little About John…

Best at: Adapting. I’ve always been the type of person who goes with the flow and takes each day as it comes. This was necessary during my time in the Peace Corps and really helped me not take things too seriously. It’s been especially helpful as I balance everyday life and being a father!

Worst at: Being in a negative atmosphere. I don’t like it when people aren’t having a good time. I always try to brighten the mood and make people smile. I try not to take myself too seriously, which has a way of lightening things up, too.

Passionate about: My son. I’ve waited 35 years to be a dad. It’s been the best ride of my life. I want to make sure he has the best life that he can and also not take life too seriously. Watching the world through his eyes completely changed the world for me.

Favorite Hallmark: We honor the dignity and sacredness of each person.

What’s your “why”? My favorite aspect of being the Director of Impact is the way that numbers can help tell and convey a story. Behind each number and data point is an individual story. When you see that collective number start to grow, you start to see the impact that the people are having in the communities that they serve.

The Hallmarks by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur are the essential characteristics, values, and activities of the NDMVA learning community. They are common principles that we share within both organizations. They recently refreshed their hallmarks! Click here to read the updated Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Hallmarks.
