A Little About Jess…
Best at: Being on time. Even if I try to be late, I'm still on time.
Worst at: Coming up with a “fun fact.” I panic. I have no idea what to say, even though I live a fun life!
Obsessed with: I have microbursts of obsessions. For example, there will be a two-month stint where I’ll read a book every week. Then suddenly, I’ll switch to something else– like cooking a new recipe every day.
What’s your “why”? I learned the most about teaching by being in the community and being absorbed by it versus the classroom and sitting through lectures. The way we should train teachers is by doing. I want to give people opportunities like I had to try something and see if it fits. NDMVA is a program that offers people real-life experiences to figure out what they want to do as they go and to learn by doing. I want to give others the experience I received and am willing to support people through their service journeys and beyond.
Favorite Hallmark: We develop holistic learning communities which educate for life.
The Hallmarks by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur are the essential characteristics, values, and activities of the NDMVA learning community. They are common principles that we share within both organizations. They recently refreshed their hallmarks! Click here to read the updated Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Hallmarks.
