A Little About Cora…

Best at: Connecting with people. I love hearing about what people love, what they hate, what hurts, and what brings them joy. I believe we all are more alike than we are different and a simple conversation can be a way to embrace that.

Worst at: Watching where I’m going. I trip at least once a day. At almost six feet tall, it’s a long way down.

Passionate about: Justice. I believe what MLK said about the moral arc of the universe bending towards justice. We all play a part in bending the arch by serving and loving the people around us.

What’s your “why”? I went on a service trip during undergrad that brought me back to the heart of who I am. I grew up doing service projects with my mom and her high school students. It was what made the both of us the happiest. Then, somewhere along the way, I lost sight of that. I want to be a part of making service a part of other people’s journeys. It has changed the course of my life for good. The simple truth that it is better to give than to receive is my “why.”

Favorite hallmark:  We proclaim by our lives even more than our words that God is good.

The Hallmarks by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur are the essential characteristics, values, and activities of the NDMVA learning community. They are common principles that we share within both organizations. They recently refreshed their hallmarks! Click here to read the updated Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Hallmarks.
