A Little About Billal…

Best at: Thinking before doing. I like to conceptualize solutions before implementing them in order to solve a problem in the most efficient manner possible. I’m not the type of person to go in to solve it right away; I’ll think through it first. That way, when I go through it, I can fix it within an hour or two.

Worst at: Indirect questions. They make me panic. I'm better at “yes” or “no” questions that are straightforward.  I’m terrible with questions like, “What's your favorite thing?”

Passionate about:  Technology. It's fun in an imaginative sense. You’ll always see me buying the latest tech, even if it's a waste of money just to try it out. I like seeing how much we’ve come as a society and how much it's growing. New technology hints at where we might be in five to 10 years and shows how rapidly things are changing. Things we thought would be absurd are getting closer to becoming a reality, and I get excited about what's ahead.

What’s your “why”?: It is the same reason why I like technology: We can imagine the future—seeing the impact makes you feel better about where we are as a society. Seeing the numbers that John, our Director of Impact, shares is encouraging, especially as I work behind the scenes. It fosters optimism about where we are going as an organization.

Favorite Hallmark: We embrace the gift of diversity.

The Hallmarks by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur are the essential characteristics, values, and activities of the NDMVA learning community. They are common principles that we share within both organizations. They recently refreshed their hallmarks! Click here to read the updated Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur Hallmarks.
