Ecological Sustainability Program Assistant

The AmeriCorps member will assist the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in living out their mission to “care for the earth” by helping to restore and steward native ecosystems at Nazareth; offering educational sessions to the congregation, residents of Nazareth Villages and broader public about the benefits and importance of living sustainably or regeneratively; and occasionally serving as a member of the SCN Disaster Relief team in response to natural disasters. Applicants should have an interest in ecology and enjoy working with people of all ages.

 

Gardens and Grounds Assistant

The AmeriCorps member will assist the Sisters of Charity of Nazareth in living out their mission to “care for the earth” by serving as: 1) Coordinator of the Community Garden and assistant to the Garden Manager in the cafeteria garden; 2) Member of grounds team assisting in installing and maintaining landscaping and safe campus environment; 3) Facilitator of two to three workshops/information sessions for the Sisters and the broader community regarding “Care for the Earth” initiatives and ecological sustainability efforts; 4) Member of the SCN Disaster Relief Team, responding as needed. Applicant should have an interest in ecology, gardening, landscaping and enjoy working with people of all ages.
