I enjoyed my year of service, working with the Sisters of Notre Dame. They really opened up my shell, and brought out my true self. I still can't fully put into words, all this program has done for me. I do know that my one year of service, really made me grow from a young boy with a dream, to a man with a vision. I will carry this experience in my heart forever. - Joshua Rex Vanderhoof (Cincinnati, 2001-02)

My NDA experience continues to shape my perspective and experience. I am so grateful to have served in Apopka, FL. The experience changed my life and I still feel that I am part of the family I found there. My choice to become a teacher was absolutely influenced by my service in NDA. - Sarah Sullivan (Apopka, 1997-98)

When I finished my two years as an NDA member in San Francisco and Redwood City, I knew I needed to continue on this path of service. I applied to be a volunteer with the Notre Dame Mission Volunteer International Program... After patiently waiting four and a half months for my voluntary visa to go through, I received word that I would be joining the Sisters in Brazil to serve the wonderful community of Anapu, a rural farming town marked by political turmoil over deforestation and logging.
Jeremy Mitchell (San Francisco, 2008-09, 2009-10; Anapu, Brazil, 2011-12)
